Two hand-carved stone benches with floral backrests, set against a balustrade on a crazy-paved terrace. Benches like these are cut from solid stone and simply placed: no fixings, no treatment, nothing to bring in for the winter.
They were sized and positioned to suit the terrace rather than bought to a standard length, and the carving pattern on the backs was matched to the balustrade behind so the whole terrace reads as one commission.
