Nicosia is inland, and the work reflects that. Less pool surround, far more interior marble: staircases, floors, fireplace surrounds and worktops.
A marble staircase is the job we are asked for most often in Nicosia. The city has a lot of family houses on several floors where the stair is the first thing anyone sees, and solid marble treads take that traffic for decades without the hollow wear or loosening that tiled steps develop. Each one is templated on site, because a built stairwell is never quite as square as its drawing.
Carved fireplace surrounds are the other Nicosia speciality. The capital gets genuinely cold nights in winter, colder than the coast, so fireplaces there are used rather than decorative. We make surrounds to fit around existing fireboxes and wood burners, in everything from full classical designs with carved friezes to plain contemporary frames.
Outside, the summers are the hottest on the island, which is a real argument for natural stone on terraces and in courtyards. Pale dense stone stays usably cool underfoot when concrete and dark porcelain do not, and it does not fade under that kind of sun the way a painted or resin surface will.
Getting it to you
Nicosia is a longer run from Paphos, so we plan deliveries as complete loads rather than piecemeal drops. We visit to template fitted work before anything is cut.
